38th annual Walk & 5K to End HIV

Having worked at Whitman-Walker for 4 years now, I am more excited than ever for this year's Walk & 5K to End HIV. We have come so far since this event began 38 years ago, and we still have so much work to do. HIV remains an epidemic in D.C. and like any complex problem, it requires the efforts of a community to solve. With teams of staff providing HIV/STI testing, PrEP access, health insurance support, research, legal services, and more, Whitman-Walker Health tackles the many factors that contribute to this epidemic. I am impressed every day by the dedication of my coworkers, and of our patients--who come to Whitman-Walker for answers, then go back to the community to educate and support their friends and neighbors.
