39th annual Walk & 5K to End HIV
Hi to all!
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, I’m participating in the 39th annual Walk & 5K Run to End HIV benefiting the HIV programs and services of Whitman-Walker Health. Whitman-Walker provides comprehensive health services to all regardless of ability to pay, focusing on the LGBTQ+ community in the DC area, and this Walk is a vital part of ensuring Whitman-Walker has the resources to continue its support of at-risk and HIV-positive populations.
Supporting Whitman-Walker is very important to me personally. My uncle, brother, and son all are a part of the LGBTQ+ community. I want to ensure as much as possible that they and others in the community live their best lives, and Whitman-Walker aids tremendously in achieving that goal.
I hope that you will support me in my goal of raising funds for this important cause. HIV remains an epidemic in D.C. and Whitman-Walker Health focuses on services and education designed to prevent transmission of the virus and provide care to those who are infected. Your donation will go toward these lifesaving services.
Your help especially is critical this year as Whitman-Walker has lost 40% of its federal funding for research, including HIV-related projects, and another $400,000 for a prevention program that enabled Whitman-Walker to administer 15,000 HIV and STI tests last year.
