Sponsor One or More of the 7,000 Steps to End HIV
Friends,
I shared some news this past week: the word interim is off my title, so I am honored to be the executive director of the Whitman-Walker Foundation.
It is a privilege to be giving back to an institution that has benefited me and thousands upon thousands of us over its 50 years in DC.
I don't need to list the challenges we're facing; y'all read the news about cuts to Medicaid, HIV/AIDS research, and more. But I am asking you to channel any rage or discouragement into steps.
Steps? Yes, steps.
According to ChatGPT, it takes an average of 7,000 steps to complete a walking 5K. So, I am throwing in the first $1,000 and asking you to sponsor the remaining $6,000 worth of steps in this Walk to End HIV.
Let's value each step at $20. That means we need 300 gifts of that value or more to reach this goal.
In return, all donors will get a handwritten note--and those who give $100 or more will get an exclusive video from the Walk and some photos from me that reflect the community spirit that is at the core of what Whitman-Walker does.
If you can, take go to the space on this space to make a gift--and know that, step by step, we will end HIV together. (Sorry for the pun, but there's no budget for comedy writers. ;o))
Thank you.
Ted
