About Tim's Team
This year I will be hosting the 38th annual Walk to End HIV benefiting the HIV programs and services of Whitman-Walker health. After losing my uncle Tim to HIV in 2020 I am thankful that I have the opportunity to not only host but also run the 5k to raise awareness. I hope that you will support me in my goal of raising funds for this important cause.
Last year I participated in the 37th annual walk/5k after learning about the event by chance. I had such great support last year, having found out about it only three days before. I am so thankful that that random meeting has now lead me to being involved with Whitman-Walker and this annual event.
HIV remains an epidemic in D.C. and Whitman-Walker Health focuses on services and education designed to prevent transmission of the virus and provide care to those who are infected.
The Walk to End HIV is a vital part of ensuring we have the resources to continue our support of at-risk and HIV-positive populations. Your donation will go toward lifesaving services that Whitman-Walker Health provides for thousands of people in our area living with HIV and AIDS—regardless of their ability to pay. And you will help fund critical prevention outreach and treatment programs that can help end HIV in D.C..
THANK YOU!
About my uncle Tim:
My uncle Tim was more than his diagnosis. Growing up he taught me the importance of music - especially The Spin Doctors. How important it is to be outside and active. He taught me about the importance of football season, exploring the woods hiking and how to drive a boat.
He was contracted by the US Government to take class photos of the US Congress. He worked as an integral part of a two man team, he was instrumental in developing the computer program which aged photographs of missing children for the FBI Missing Children's Department. Several missing children were located while working closely with the FBI Missing Children's Department.
After developing the aging photography computer program, he traveled world-wide training various International Police Agencies on how to implement and use the new photo-aging program. As a computer programmer, he also worked with various government agencies developing requested computer programs.
He's my hero.
