There's a part of me that forgets how important things are. 

This picture is over 25 years old, which is wild to me. 

That younger version of me knew that there were important things in the world that were out of balance. A disease was ravaging communities. People couldn't access health care. Basic human dignity was being denied. People were dying for no good reason. 

And I knew I had to do something.

I recall my first Walk was in 1994. All bright eyed and idealistic. Over those years I steered my career towards social work, social justice and therapy. Hearing thousands of stories of loss, tragedy, and sometimes triumph. The one thing that doesn't change is the inequity. 

People still die or get sick without reason or cause, systems fail, and the roots of human dignity are corrupted or distracted. 

So, I still walk, all these years later.
