40th Annual Walk to End HIV
On Saturday, September 19, I’m participating in the 40th annual Walk to End HIV benefiting the HIV programs and services of Whitman-Walker Health. I hope that you will support me in my goal of raising funds for this important cause. HIV remains an epidemic in D.C. and Whitman-Walker Health focuses on services and education designed to prevent transmission of the virus and provide care to those who are infected.
The Walk to End HIV is a vital part of ensuring we have the resources to continue our support of at-risk and HIV-positive populations. That’s why I’m raising funds through this year’s Walk. Your donation will go toward lifesaving services that Whitman-Walker Health provides for thousands of people in our area living with HIV and AIDS—regardless of their ability to pay. And you will help fund critical prevention outreach and treatment programs that can help end HIV in D.C..
This year, I have registered to walk with Team I Did It My Way, organized by Lee Levingston Perine. Lee is turning 48 and has set a goal of bringing together 48 walkers in honor of his father, David Andrew Perine, Sr., and his friend, SaVanna Wanzer. After the walk, there will be a casual community meetup to celebrate the day together. This is a beautiful cause and a natural fit for our community, and we would love to have you walk with us.
